In today’s part two of our series, we’ll go over several other specific benefits are brought to a community by public courts and surrounding areas, including some that hit at important social consciousness themes.
Place for Instructors
Not only are public courts excellent for socialization and exercise themes, they’re also ideal locations for various sports and other instructors for kids, teens and even adults within the community. There are numerous such instructors out there, including some who may offer free or low-priced services for those in the community who do not have the money for private lessons.
Public courts are an ideal resource for these people. They have the tools to educate and benefit numerous others, including young people within the community. Whenever we drive by one of our public courts, we’re always thrilled to see various sport instruction taking place.
Whether they’re actively playing sports, socializing with friends or taking part in some other related activities, public courts within the community serve as excellent ways for youth in the neighborhood to build important life experiences and lessons. The sport outlet helps teach themes like fair play, winning and losing with grace, teamwork and others. In addition, many kids find a sense of belonging or community through sports or groups they latch onto in these locations.
Beyond the practical benefits of sports courts within a community, there are broader hometown pride elements at work here as well. Many who live in a given town, city or community are fiercely proud of where they live and what their community does for others, especially youth within it.
Outdoor courts, then, are one excellent way to boost community pride and bring the community together. Kids and teens who frequent the location can take pride in keeping it clean, functional and all their own. Community leaders can point to these areas as examples of how the community is a good one to live in, showcasing commitment to residents and a sense of belonging for all who live or spend time in the area.
