Utah Basketball Court Color: Lines, Accents, Property Value

In part one of this two-part blog series, we looked at some initial basics and options when it comes to the colors you choose to use on a residential basketball court. There are several different approaches you might take here, and today’s modern basketball court technology makes it possible to attain just about any color combination you’re interested in.

At Courts Unlimited, we’re proud to offer residential basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts and more to clients around Utah, providing a wide range of color options to any client. While part one of our series went over color themes like contrasting or using your favorite team’s colors, today’s part two will look at a couple different approaches some take to color when installing a new basketball court on their property.

Varying Lines for Different Sports

For many homes, a basketball court installation will actually serve as a central hub for multiple sports. For instance, you may have a hard court that serves as both a basketball court and a tennis court at the same time. In instances like these, one approach people can take is to use different colors on the lines earmarked for each sport, making it easy to differentiate between activities when multiple sports are being played on the same surface.

As you go about this process, you’ll want to make sure the colors you use are bright and vibrant, as this will help them stand out when looked at from a distance. This is especially true if the lines for each sport are close together with limited space between them.

Accent Colors

In addition to using different colors on your court’s lines, another option some clients opt for is to use accent colors around the court’s periphery. These may be used in any part of the court you choose, such as on the side walls or at various points along either border.

Accent colors can really help tie a court together and make it stand out from its surroundings. When choosing an accent color or two, try to keep things in balance – make sure you don’t go overboard and end up with a court that’s overly busy and confusing to look at.

Colors for Property Value

If you plan to sell your home in the near future, or if you’re just looking to maximize its current value, you may want to opt for a few more muted colors when it comes to your residential basketball court. Neutral tones like blues and greens tend to add more aesthetic appeal when potential buyers view the property, as these don’t necessarily draw attention away from the rest of the home’s features.
